SEVEN CHANCES

Keaton's said of Seven Chances (1925), "When it came down to the finish, where my brides-to-be are chasing me- my God, we actually hired five hundred women, every shape and every size, and bridal outfits on all of 'em- well, hell, I can outrun 'em.  And even if they catch me,  how can you end the picture? Can I marry all of 'em? Not even in Utah.  Can I fight 'em...?"

Boister's new original score to the film debuted in October 2003 at the Virginia Film Festival's Culbreth Theater, where it drew the venue's largest crowd of the festival. The International Buster Keaton Society/Damfinos hailed the performance and the band's score, which quotes Pink Floyd, Kurt Weill, Stephen Foster, Charles Mingus, Willie Dixon, and Duke Ellington.

The film itself features more death-defying Keaton antics, which combined with the most motley assortment of scorned brides makes for an extraordinary mix of awe and side-splitting hilarity.
